ABOUT LAURA BRIGGS
The Story Behind the
Strategy
Dr. Laura Briggs is a versatile nonfiction author whose work blends research-driven insight with accessible, real-world storytelling. Drawing from her experience as a three-time TEDx speaker, longtime freelancer, and doctoral researcher, she writes about careers, business strategy, and the hidden forces shaping how people work and thrive.
Professional Background
From 7th-Grade Social Studies to Shaping Freelance Futures
In 2012, Laura transitioned from serving as a 7th-grade Social Studies teacher to starting her own business as a freelance writer, digital marketing strategist, and book launch consultant supporting clients across the legal, financial, accounting, and publishing industries. Laura's own entry into remote entrepreneurship was driven by her role as a military spouse, a lifestyle that led to over a dozen moves all over the country due to her husband's career.
Her career has been defined by versatility: she has served as a fractional CMO, director of marketing and partnerships, content strategist, and project manager, and has also been formally trained in advertising by the best in the field.
Throughout her freelance career, she has ghostwritten millions of words for clients and shaped the marketing strategies of hundreds of businesses.
Laura's work extends deeply into the publishing world. She has helped authors within launch strategies, manage platform growth plans, and build encouraging relationships with readers. In addition, Laura has contributed directly to the creative side of publishing via impactful author platform strategies and comprehensive marketing plans, and she has also ghostwritten six business and organizational leadership books for clients.
Every day, Laura brings a rare blend of creative intuition and operational clarity. She understands both the artistry and the business mechanics — from how ideas move from draft to finished book, how to create a loyal table, and what truly builds long-term readership. Her background gives her the ability to structure complex projects, meet deadlines reliably, incorporate feedback with ease, and deliver content rooted in real experience, not just theory.
